The Bethel Rebel: Life according to Johnny Ginsberg

My Life Creeds.

This constitution is my basic beliefs, and the basis for my faith and my intended goals for me.

Part one is in the Apostle’s Creed:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:

Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into hell.

The third day He arose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy *catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

Amen.

The Bible verses below are part two of the Constitution.  I try to implement these verses into my daily life and actions.

Mark 12:29-31  “This is the most important [commandment]said Jesus.”   “Hear O Israel, The LORD our God, the LORD is One.  Love the LORD your God with all of your heart, with all of your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.  The Second is like it:  Love your neighbor as you love yourself…

John 15:12-13:  This is my Commandment: love one another as I have loved you.   No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends.

Micah 6:8  He has told you men what is good and what does the LORD require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy and faithfullness, and to walk humbly with your God.

May God bless all who read these words.

Also, I  believe in Murphy’s Laws of Combat, which says:

( source unknown.)

This is a reminder of how life works if you’re a soldier.

1. You are not a superman

2. if it’s stupid but it works, it isn’t stupid.

3.  Don’t look conspicuous, it draws fire.

4.   when in doubt, emply your magazine

5.   Never share a foxhole with anyone braver then you

6.   Never forget your weapon is made by the lowest bidder

7.    If your attack is going really well, it’s an ambush

8.   No plan survives the first contact intact.

9.    All five-second grenade fuses will burn down in three seconds.

10.   Try to look unimportant because the bad guys may be low on ammo.

11.   If you are forward of your position, the artillery will fall short.

12.  The enemy diversion you’re ignoring is the main attack.

13.   The important things are always simple

14.   The simple things are always hard

15. The easy way is always mined.

16.   If you’re short of everything except enemy, you’re in combat.

17.   When you’ve secured an area, don’t forget to tell the enemy.

18.  Incoming fire has the right of way.

19.  Friendly fire-isn’t.

20.  If the enemy is in range, so are you.

21.  No combat ready unit has ever passed inspection.

22.   Beer math is two beers times 37 men= 49 cases.

23.   Body count math is two guerillas plus one portable plus two pigs= 37 enemy killed in action.

24.   Things that must be together to work, usually can’t be shipped together.

25.   Radios will fail as soon as you need fire support desperately.

26.   Anything you do can get you shot, including doing nothing.

27.   Tracers work both ways.

28.   The only thing more accurate then incoming enemy fire is incoming friendly fire.

29.   Make it tough for the enemy to get in and you can’t get out.

30.   If you take more than your fair share of objectives, you will have more than your fair share of objectives to take.

31.   When both sides are convinced they are about to lose, they are both right.

32.  Professional soldiers are predictable, but the world is full of amateurs.

33.   Murphy was a grunt.
